The extraordinary visual feast that wowed audiences in 2008 will also enhance the magic of the Games in London 2012. But as well as ceremonies and sports presentation, Crystal CG will be involved in a diversity of material for the next two years.
Crystal CG was appointed as the Official Digital Imaging Services Supplier to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2009. As such we will provide a great range of material to support marketing, branding and training.
London 2012 Chairman Sebastian Coe said, “Sport presentation is difficult to get right, but it’s something we’re spending a lot of time thinking about. Crystal CG will help us deliver this at Games time. Their role is a broad one, as they will deliver our digital imaging requirements across the project — from venue images to, potentially, working with us on our ceremonies.”
Mr. Lu, President of Crystal CG, said, “We are delighted and honoured to be providing our digital image and animation expertise to the London Organising Committee (LOCOG). We are determined to help LOCOG prepare for a spectacular Games in 2012 that will be memorable for the Olympic Family and fans and television audiences worldwide.”
The role of our creative designers will be to provide digital imaging services that support a variety of applications commissioned by LOCOG.
Materials we create will be used extensively in the lead-up to the games — for instance, to support planning applications, and to help organisation and planning in advance of the events. These will include a full range of 3D visualisations of all London 2012 venues and many non-competition venues, such as the Olympic Village and International Broadcast Centre/Main Press Centre.
We will also be providing a host of other materials used in marketing by other suppliers and sponsors — and of course to support the branding of the Games themselves, including extensive work with the official mascot.
There will of course be extensive audiovisual elements requiring digital animation for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of both Olympic and Paralympic Games. And as the Games unfold, you will see digital animation packages that we will produce for each Olympic and Paralympic Sport — to help explain the particular sport, enhance its presentation, and deliver the best possible spectator experience.
